ABOUT ME

Welcome to my journey in the world of hospitality! Born in Bartica, Guyana, and blessed with a beautiful family, my career spans an enriching 34 years in the industry. The heart of my experience beats at The Jamaica Pegasus, where I served as Financial Controller / Deputy General Manager from 1984 to 2002, later stepping into the role of General Manager until 2011. Starting in 1977 at Guyana Pegasus, I swiftly rose to Financial Controller by 1979. My path intertwined with Trusthouse Forte Ltd., the world’s largest hotel chain, providing me with extensive training globally in accounting, computers, sales, marketing, and management development.

As a retired Fellow of The Institute of Hospitality and the proud past chairman of the Jamaica chapter of HCIMA (now the Institute of Hospitality, UK), I am also a member of Skal International. In 2009, I received the Order of Distinction, OD, from the Jamaican government for outstanding service to the hospitality industry. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and a Diploma in Hospitality Management, my commitment to excellence extends to embracing technological advances. I spearheaded the Jamaica Pegasus’s Twitter presence, earning recognition as the most influential hotel on Twitter in 2010.

Now in retirement, my passion for contributing endures. Whether through board appointments or audit committees, I am eager to share insights and instill confidence in the next generation. Outside the boardroom, you’ll find me indulging in my love for fishing and darts. Join me in celebrating the past, embracing the present, and confidently handing the future to the capable hands of young leaders.
